Construction on the Rozelle Interchange, a new underground motorway in Sydney started in 2019.
Spacer Company has been brought on board to supply specialised, custom-designed spacers for this extensive project.
Delivered by Transport for NSW, the Rozelle Interchange will connect to the M4-M5 Link Tunnels. The interchange is mostly underground with tunnelling conducted from the site of the old Rozelle Rail Yards. By building the interchange mostly underground, the project will deliver new active transport options in Rozelle and transform the disused site, providing up to 10 hectares of new open space.
The spacers have been specifically designed for the project and manufactured in Spacer Company’s Brisbane factory, from recycled polymer.
Every batch is tested to meet Australian standards using Spacer Company’s inhouse state of the art testing equipment.
When opened to traffic in 2023, the Rozelle Interchange and Iron Cove Link will provide a new underground motorway interchange to City West Link and an underground bypass of Victoria Road between the Iron Cove Bridge and the Anzac Bridge, with a connection to the future Western Harbour Tunnel.
